Biologist Irma Pulido Caballero, who is also a member of the turtle camp at Playa Paraíso, has raised concerns about a license granted for the construction of 44 apartments in a sea turtle nesting area. She pointed out that the proposed project does not meet environmental standards.
Despite the fact that the local government oversees part of this area, it has approved a construction project that contradicts environmental regulations. Pulido Caballero highlighted the importance of the beach as a crucial nesting ground for sea turtles.
In an attempt to halt the construction, a complaint has been lodged. Pulido Caballero stressed the need to protect the nesting area, deeming the project unworkable, and called for the construction license to be rescinded.
A protest is planned for July 5th to demand the revocation of the construction license and to promote environmental conservation.
