SHOCKING: Woman Busted for Election Fraud in Playa del Carmen

A woman, identified as Guadalupe del Rosario “N”, has been arrested by the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. She is suspected of committing electoral crimes. Specifically, she is accused of offering money in exchange for votes, to be paid in two installments on electronic cards.

The initial investigation suggests that on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Guadalupe was engaged in vote buying at a residence in the Nicte-Há neighborhood. She was allegedly promoting a candidate for the Municipal Presidency of Solidaridad. As part of the scheme, she is accused of offering electronic cards loaded with 4,000 pesos. This was to be divided into two payments: 2,000 pesos before the elections and the remaining amount afterwards.

The Prosecutor's Office Specializing in Combatting Electoral Crimes requested the arrest warrant from a Control Judge. The warrant was executed by the Investigation Police, who then presented Guadalupe to the judicial authority.
