The Quintana Roo team wrapped up their participation in the 2024 Conade Nationals open water competition with two medals. The team secured a silver in the women's individual five-kilometer race and a bronze in the mixed relay. Both of these victories were in the 14-15 year old category.
Young athlete Melissa Torres Bardales from Chetumal clinched the silver medal in the women's individual 5-kilometer race. She narrowly missed out on the gold, finishing just milliseconds behind the winner.
The mixed relay medal was secured by the team of Emmanuel Canché May, Melissa Torres Bardales, Abigail Medina Guzmán, and Juan Salazar Sánchez.
With these victories, the Quintana Roo team has accumulated a total of 133 medals in the overall medal tally at the event.
