Residents of Kanasín and northern Mérida municipalities are set to benefit from the expansion of the "Go and Come" public transportation system. The new routes will provide more efficient transfers with modern vehicles, enhancing the mobility experience for locals.

The Kanasín-Naranjos and Dzibilchaltún – Chablekal – Sac Nicté – La Isla – Peripheral Circuit Municipality routes have now commenced operation. This is part of the ongoing mobility transformation initiative led by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal in Yucatán.

The Yucatán Transportation Agency (ATY) announced that service began early Saturday with 22 new modern vehicles. Twenty of these are hybrid Yutong buses serving the Kanasín-Naranjos route, while two smaller Yutong One Step buses are assigned to the Dzibilchaltún – Chablekal – Sac Nicté – La Isla – Peripheral Circuit Municipality route.

To support local families, both routes will be free until June 16. From June 17, electronic charging will apply via the Go and Come cards. The fare for the first four routes of the Circuit Municipalities and those in the Tizimín and Valladolid municipalities will be 12 pesos for general passengers and 5 pesos for social passengers. Electronic charging will commence from June 10, with transfer discounts available to users.

The Kanasín-Naranjos route starts at the Lucas de Gálvez Market and passes through various points of interest, including the People's House, Family Medicine Unit No. 56 IMSS, and the "Eduardo Urzais Rodríguez" secondary school. It also covers the Kanasín Health Center, the "Adolfo López Mateos" primary school, and the main park of Kanasín. This route is the only one that connects the municipality directly with the Historic Center of Mérida.

The hybrid Yutong buses used on this route have a diesel-electric propulsion system and can accommodate 70 passengers. They are also environmentally friendly, producing 400% less CO2 emissions per year, equivalent to planting 2,845 trees.

The Dzibilchaltún – Chablekal – Sac Nicté – La Isla – Peripheral route starts from the center of the Dzibilchaltún municipality and passes through the Chablekal park, the Sac-Nicté park, and the commercial plaza of La Isla Mérida. It also covers the Ateneo Educational Center of Mérida and the Southeast Culinary School.
