At 10:50 this morning, a JetBlue flight from New York touched down at Tulum International Airport, marking the airline's first international flight to this destination. The daily service operates from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

This new route makes Tulum the third Mexican destination for JetBlue, joining Cancun and Los Cabos. The inaugural flight carried around 150 passengers, including JetBlue staff, tourism industry representatives, international journalists, and local residents. Workers from the Carrillo Puerto airport complex were also present to witness this significant event.

The arrival of this inaugural flight signals a new era for Tulum, a city that has experienced significant tourism growth in recent years. The direct link with New York, a global economic and tourism powerhouse, presents numerous opportunities for the region's economic and cultural development. To celebrate the launch, JetBlue is offering a limited-time fare of $99, available exclusively online at JetBlue.com.

David Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue, expressed his excitement about the new route. "As the only airline offering direct service from JFK in New York to Tulum, we're thrilled to provide our customers with our award-winning service, low fares, and an additional travel option to the Mexican Caribbean," he said. "JetBlue has been serving Mexico for over 17 years with flights from New York to Cancun, and we're proud to extend our presence in the country."

Andrés Martínez Reynoso, General Director of the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council, also welcomed the new service. "JetBlue has been instrumental in connecting travelers from across the U.S. to the Mexican Caribbean with direct flights to Cancun. We're excited to see this partnership continue to grow with the new daily nonstop service from New York-JFK to Tulum," he said. "With its tranquil beaches, vibrant ecology, and rich Mayan history, Tulum will now be even more accessible for travelers, along with other attractions further south along the Great Costa Maya. We look forward to welcoming New Yorkers, and those transiting through JFK, to this new chapter in the Mexican Caribbean."
