Two men, identified as Rivaldo "N" and Fernando "N", were apprehended by police in Cancún's Region 97. They are suspected of attempted murder, damage to property, and illegal possession of firearms, following an incident that occurred yesterday morning.
While patrolling the city, officers from the Citizen Security Secretariat were near Chichén Itzá Avenue, turning towards Industrial Avenue and heading towards Andrés Quintana Roo Avenue. They heard gunshots near the Gym Element and noticed a motorcycle with two riders, one of whom had a gun tucked into his waistband.
Upon seeing the police, the suspects attempted to escape but were apprehended on López Portillo Avenue, in Region 104. They lost control of their motorcycle and fell.
During the subsequent search, police confiscated a short, silver firearm with a white handle and .9mm caliber, a silver magazine, four cartridges, a gray Italika motorcycle with blue and yellow stripes, and a blue Motorola mobile phone. The motorcycle did not have a license plate.
The intended victim of the attack was at the Gym Element in Region 97. He reported that he was talking with a client when the suspects arrived on their motorcycle and threatened him. The passenger then pulled out a gun and started shooting. The victim and his client managed to avoid the bullets and the suspects fled the scene.
Rivaldo "N" and Fernando "N" have been handed over to the State Attorney General's Office for further legal proceedings.
