“Exclusive: Cancun Airport to Maya Train Connection Unveiled!”

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) is planning to build a road that will connect Cancun International Airport to the Maya Train station. The proposed project was submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) on June 6, with the goal of obtaining an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

Details published in Semarnat's Ecological Gazette reveal that the project includes site preparation, construction, operation, and maintenance of a nearly four-kilometer road extension. This road will link the country's second-largest airport terminal with the Maya Train station.

A change of land use has been requested due to the length of the proposed road. The station that will be connected to the Cancun airport is significant, as it handled over 32 million passengers last year.
