The government of Solidaridad, led by Lili Campos, is inviting children aged nine to 11 to participate in a selection contest to join the Children's Council 2024. This initiative is designed to give children an opportunity to voice their opinions on current issues and matters of public interest that affect their lives.
The contest is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024. Participants will have the chance to express their views on topics they care about, and propose ideas that could positively impact their communities. The contest also aims to strengthen democratic values and self-esteem among children through collaborative and participatory work.
The winners of the contest will become members of the Honorable Children's Council. They will take on roles such as the head of the municipal presidency, general secretary, head of the syndicate, and 15 councilors.
The selection contest will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, starting at 9:00 a.m. Registration is currently open and free of charge. The deadline for registration is June 28, and applications can be submitted until 8:00 p.m. at the Department of Education office, located in the Jaime Torres Bodet library.
