Laila Berlin, a young woman of just 28 years, tragically lost her life after a week-long struggle in Cancun's IMSS hospital. Berlin was admitted following a severe car accident on Nichupté Avenue on June 17th, where she sustained critical head injuries.
Her death was confirmed last Sunday evening at 21:35 via the emergency hotline 911, following the announcement of her passing by the on-duty doctor at 20:30. Upon receiving the news, investigative authorities and representatives from the State's Attorney General's Office (FGE) arrived at the hospital to oversee the removal of her body.
In a tragic turn of events, Berlin was identified through social media. A call for help was posted online to locate her parents, as no family members had come forward to inquire about her condition during her hospital stay.
The accident that led to Berlin's severe injuries took place near superblock 512 at approximately 13:30 on June 17th. There are conflicting reports about the incident: one suggests that Berlin was a passenger in a gray Corsa car that crashed into a post, while another indicates that she was struck by the Corsa while on Nichupté Avenue.
