A man tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on a highway in Cancún. The driver responsible for the incident left the scene, and their identity and current location remain unknown.
The accident was reported to the emergency services via the 911 number by other drivers in the vicinity. The call was received at the C5 Security Complex, which immediately dispatched first responders to the location. The first to arrive were members of the National Guard.
Upon arrival, the officers confirmed the victim's death, negating the need for an ambulance. They quickly secured the area and marked off the section of the highway to prevent further accidents. Based on early reports, the man was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling at high speed. The driver then left the scene without stopping.
Following the collision, the victim's body was found in the Airport-Mérida lane. No additional information about the vehicle involved in the incident has been released. The National Guard officers restricted traffic to a single lane while investigations were initiated by the Attorney General's Office of the State of Quintana Roo.
