Tulum Airport Back in Action After Hurricane: Full Recovery Update

Tulum International Airport in Quintana Roo, Mexico, has announced the resumption of its operations following the passage of Hurricane Beryl. The airport authorities reported on Friday that the storm did not cause significant damage to the airport facilities, allowing for a swift return to normal operations.

Hurricane Beryl passed relatively far from the airport, resulting in minimal impact on the infrastructure. The airport released a statement saying, "We are pleased to inform the airport community and users that, due to the distance of Tropical Storm Beryl and its clear trajectory towards the Gulf of Mexico, and with no major structural damage to our facility, Tulum International Airport will reopen from Saturday, July 6 at 8:00 am."

Hurricane Beryl left more than 200,000 residents in Quintana Roo and Yucatan without power. The airport administration has also announced that the facilities will be available for use by military personnel who are aiding in the recovery efforts under Plan DN-III E.

In addition, the main shipping companies that connect the mainland with Cozumel and Isla Mujeres have also announced the resumption of their operations from the early hours of Saturday, July 6.
