Isla Mujeres & Cozumel Ferry Services Resume Amidst Hurricane Cleanup – Limited to Larger Vessels

The Ultramar Maritime Terminal in Puerto Juarez has announced the resumption of operations to Isla Mujeres and Cozumel. This follows a successful clean-up operation in the aftermath of Hurricane "Beryl". The port is currently experiencing a significant influx of domestic tourists.

However, the port will only be accessible to vessels larger than 40 feet in length. This means that only companies offering water activity tours and users with larger vessels can use the route. Consequently, the port will remain closed to smaller vessels.

Ferry services from Playa Tortugas and Playa Caracol to Isla Mujeres remain suspended. Meanwhile, Puerto Morelos is open to navigation, but with restrictions on vessels smaller than 40 feet.

At present, Othón P. Blanco is the only municipality with fully open ports. It's worth noting that in the North Zone, restrictions will continue until further notice. The National Weather Service has forecasted more rain for Sunday and Monday.
