The development company, Valentín Travel México, intends to expand the existing hotel, adding 832 more rooms, among other tourist infrastructure works.
“It will be an all-inclusive hotel in the heart of the Mayan World, where all the beauty of the beaches of the Mexican Caribbean open the doors to this paradise”, states the Environmental Impact Statement (MIA).
“The project will not only provide accommodation services, but also leisure activities to encourage the client to recreate in the company of nature, immersed in the ecological diversity of the environment, which they intend to conserve, considering the land’s biotic and abiotic richness”, added the promoting firm.
The proposed resort project includes the Express Hotel and the Hacienda Hotel, as well as other independent buildings with various room levels; Star, Golden and Honeymoon. Also planned on the property is a business center, commercial areas with shops and offices, two tennis courts, a chapel, a wedding capitula, a spa, restaurants and a main reception building with lobby and bar, among other amenities for guests.
The company had submitted a previous Environmental Impact Statement, for 433 rooms representing an investment of 67.7 million dollars. In this revised MIA, the project is expanded to almost double the number of rooms, and new infrastructure is included.
Last week, Grupo Lomas in alliance with Grupo Karisma Hotels and Resorts inaugurated the Nickelodeon Hotel at an investment amounting to 140 million dollars.
On July 1, Grupo Xcaret inaugurated its second hotel, Xcaret Arte, with 900 suites catering to the adult travel market and with an investment of 427 million dollars.
This is the Xcaret’s second resort after opening their first hotel, Xcaret México in 2017. Gupo Xcaret has also introduced the “All Fun” inclusive concept, offering hotel guests unlimited access to the Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Xplor parks, Xplor Fuego, Xavage, Xoximilco and Xenses, as well as their signature tours, Xenotes and Xichén.
