Each year, thousands of tourists flock to Mexico to bask in its stunning beach landscapes. For many, these destinations offer more than just white sand, clear water, and breathtaking sunsets. Astrid Helena Ramirez Cuervo, for instance, describes her affection for Mexican beaches as her “personal refuge”. She believes the country’s coastline has become an essential part of her life and well-being.

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), beach destinations accounted for 70.4% of hotel occupancy in the first four months of 2024. From January to April, an average of 206,607 rooms were available, marking a 0.1% increase from 2023.

Astrid Helena Ramirez Cuervo explains that for her, and many other tourists, these destinations offer more than just natural beauty. They provide transformative experiences. “The sea breeze and the sound of the waves create a natural symphony that fills me with serenity,” she says. For her, the Mexican coast is a place of peace and renewal, a welcome escape from the daily grind.

As summer holidays approach, Mexico’s coastline becomes an increasingly attractive option for travelers seeking experiences beyond conventional attractions.
