Estefanía Mercado, the newly elected municipal president of Solidaridad, recently attended an informational meeting about the upcoming "Pension for Women 60 to 64 years old" program. This initiative is set to be launched by the incoming Mexican government, led by future president Claudia Sheinbaum.

Mercado explained the purpose of the meeting was to provide details about Plan C, the direction in which the pension program is headed. She said the program aims to support women aged 60 to 64, who will then be eligible for their senior citizen pension cards.

Addressing a large crowd of women at the Villas del Sol neighborhood park, Mercado expressed her belief in the program's benefits. She stated that these are part of the Morenista project and a movement initiated by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, which will be continued by Claudia Sheinbaum.

Mercado also noted that the expansion of this federal program will focus on working women, single mothers, and older women. She emphasized the importance of these groups continuing to receive support from the federal government.

She further added that the upcoming government will not only increase social programs but also deepen them. She argued that sufficient funds are available for these initiatives, especially when corruption is eliminated.

Mercado announced that similar informational meetings will be held every Sunday in all neighborhoods of Solidaridad and the mayor's office of Puerto Aventuras.

She concluded by saying that with the support of elected senators and federal deputies, the program will progress. The responsibility for approving these programs lies with them, she added.

The meeting was led by Bernardo García Alejandre, the state representative of the National Institute of Political Education of Morena. Other attendees included deputy Mirella Díaz and elected councilor Alma Angelina Rodríguez, among others.
