Tragic Death of “Codzito Polcán” Rocks Tizimín

The town of Tizimín was left in shock on Tuesday evening following the tragic death of popular teacher and comedian, Herminio Guerrero May, also known as “Codzito Polcán.”

Guerrero May was involved in a fatal traffic accident while riding his motorcycle on 57th Street, between 56th and 60th Streets, in the Centro neighborhood. Reports suggest that he lost control of his motorcycle, skidded, and sustained multiple injuries that led to his immediate death.

Paramedics were quickly at the scene, but could only confirm that Guerrero May had already passed away. The area was subsequently sealed off by the municipal police. State Investigation Police officers also arrived to document the incident.

Family members of Guerrero May were present at the scene to confirm his identity. Known for his work as a theater teacher at the Casa de la Cultura in Tizimín, Guerrero May had recently been crowned king of the young adults' carnival in the city of kings. His untimely death is a great loss to the community that loved and admired him.
