Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa has announced a significant step towards safer public transport in Quintana Roo. The DIDI transportation app will soon feature an emergency button, a result of a recent agreement. This button will allow both passengers and drivers to send an alert directly to the C5 system if they find themselves in an emergency situation.

"Very soon, this tool will be at your fingertips. If you feel you're in an emergency, you can send a call for help that will be immediately received at the Control, Command, Computing, Communications and Coordination Center (C5)", said Governor Lezama.

This collaboration aims to use technology and security protocols to reduce crime incidents and provide a greater sense of safety to the platform's users. The direct connection to the C5 will enable more efficient responses to help requests. The agreement, signed by the DIDI platform, the Citizen Security Secretariat, and the Mobility Institute, also includes training on the use of the emergency button and security protocols. It also ensures permanent supervision to confirm vehicles are equipped with necessary devices.

Governor Lezama reassured users, "When you take your next DIDI ride, remember that we are with you, ensuring you reach your destination safely. By simply pressing the emergency button, we will provide you with assistance." She added that this initiative is part of the New Agreement for Wellness and Development of Quintana Roo, and is a step towards transforming the state.
