The weather forecast for Cancún and Quintana Roo on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, predicts a hot day with periods of cloudiness and intermittent showers. A low-pressure system over the southeast of the country, coupled with moisture from the Caribbean Sea, is expected to bring rain showers and possible thunderstorms to Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo.
The afternoon will continue to be warm to hot across most of Mexico, with peak temperatures surpassing 40 °C. Despite the heat, cooler moments are anticipated in the morning before temperatures begin to rise as the day progresses. This forecast is provided by the State Civil Protection Coordination (Coeproc), based on information from the National Weather Service (SMN).
For the Yucatan Peninsula, the morning is expected to be partly cloudy and cool. However, the afternoon will bring a hot and warm environment to the states of Campeche and Yucatán. These states can also expect cloudy skies, intermittent showers, and the possibility of thunderstorms.
