In the magical town of Isla Mujeres, the traditional "Vaquería" was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy. The event was led by the town's Mayor, Atenea Gómez Ricalde, and was part of the Patron Saint Festivals. It also marked a key event in the Foundation Festivals, which were held in honor of the 174th Anniversary of Isla Mujeres.

Mayor Ricalde emphasized the rich culture, traditions, and customs that define Isla Mujeres. She stressed the importance of preserving these elements and passing them on to future generations.

The Municipal Esplanade of Isla Mujeres was filled with color and energy. Locals and tourists of various nationalities gathered to enjoy the "Vaquería" and performances by several dance groups. These included Al Son del Corazón, Tumben Kin, Tumben Há, Alma Caribeña, and Encanto del Mayab.

Following the dance performances, attendees were treated to a comedy show by Tila María Sesto, adding a touch of humor to the evening.

Before the "Vaquería" began, a Holy Mass was conducted at the Parish of the Immaculate Conception. This was followed by a procession through the main streets of the downtown area and the ascent of the Virgin of the Assumption. These activities were marked by the fervor and gratitude of the local Catholic community.

Mayor Ricalde's administration has been committed to promoting culture through the organization of various cultural and artistic-musical events. The Foundation Festivals serve as an international platform to share the history and traditions of Isla Mujeres with the world.
