Four individuals, one of them a minor, were apprehended in Tulum on suspicion of attempted murder, homicide, and illegal possession of military-grade firearms. The arrests occurred after local law enforcement officials received reports of gunshots at the Taboo beach club located in the Coastal Zone. The incident resulted in casualties, including one injury and one fatality.

Witnesses reported that the assailants fired shots before fleeing in a white Nissan Sentra taxi marked with red stripes. Acting on this information, the officers initiated a search for the vehicle. They eventually spotted the car on Tulum Avenue, between Beta Sur and Orión Sur streets. The occupants matched the descriptions provided by witnesses.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the officers instructed the four individuals inside to exit the car. It was then that they noticed two of the occupants were armed. The suspects were ordered to leave their weapons in the car. However, during the inspection, one of the individuals became aggressive and attempted to flee. This escape attempt was promptly reported to the municipal police, who were able to apprehend the suspect almost immediately.

The three suspects initially apprehended were found in possession of two firearms, three handgun magazines, a black UZI semi-automatic long gun, two long gun magazines, and 39 golden "Eagle" branded .9 mm caliber cartridges. Additionally, they had a military-green shirt, pixelated military color tactical pants, a pixelated military green hat, a black cap with a skull image, and three cell phones.

The suspects have been identified as Manuel "N", Henry "N", and L.D.R.C., a 16-year-old. The minor was handed over to the relevant authorities in Cancun. The fourth suspect, who identified himself as Rodrigo "N", was captured by the Tulum Municipal Police. The case has since been referred to the State Attorney General's Office of Quintana Roo.
