The Cancun International Music Festival (FIM) is set to return for its eleventh year from October 3rd to 12th. The festival will be hosted in various locations across Cancun, Puerto Morelos, and Playa del Carmen. This year's theme is "The Sound of the Andes", and the event will showcase over 150 musicians from more than 10 different countries, with over 40 activities planned across approximately 20 venues.

The festival will take place in a number of iconic locations, including the City Theater of Cancun, the City Theater of Solidaridad, The Fives Hotel, Fundadores Park in Puerto Morelos, and various local universities and schools.

The festival's opening night will be on October 3rd at 8:00 p.m. at the Stoa auditorium, featuring a performance by the acclaimed group "Los Folkloristas". Other performers include the Ernesto Montenegro Quintet, Zule Guerra, and the FIM Cancun Bigband.

The closing ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 7:00 p.m. This will feature a special performance by Lucas Saboya and the FIM Cancun String Orchestra, conducted by Leandro Espinosa, also known as the Music Pilgrim.

The festival is expected to attract more than 30,000 spectators, both in-person and online through live broadcasts on the festival's social media networks and regional cultural institutions. The majority of the events are free, with the exception of Sebastián Gil's concert "The Trumpet and the Oceans" on October 9th, which will have a fee to help cover the festival's expenses.
