In Tulum, the "Tiburones del Caribe" taxi union staged a parade in support of their imprisoned union leader, Eliazar Sagrero. The event was delayed by two hours and started in the archaeological zone before proceeding to the city center. Sagrero is currently in jail due to his alleged involvement in the murder of four individuals.

The parade was originally scheduled for 11:00 AM, but it didn't start until 1:00 PM. The taxi drivers drove through the city streets, expressing their support for Sagrero. Another group headed towards the federal highway 307, towards Akumal, causing significant traffic congestion. The taxi drivers' actions irritated other transporters, who demanded the right to circulate normally.

The public was also affected by the protest as all public transportation units were involved in the parade, leaving no service available. This left residents and visitors scrambling to find alternative modes of transportation.

The Taxi Union "Tiburones del Caribe" threatened to block federal highway 307, affecting transporters traveling to Cancún and Chetumal. The blockade was planned to coincide with Sagrero's first hearing. According to a message circulated on WhatsApp, the taxi drivers planned to start their protest in the archaeological zone of Tulum, then move to the highway, blocking both entrances and exits, and refusing service to tourists and locals.

The taxi drivers' strike left Tulum without public transportation, causing widespread discontent among users. A WhatsApp user named "Soga" called for pressure to be applied for the release of the union leader.

While the taxi drivers have not confirmed future protests, a call for action at 11:00 AM on Wednesday suggests further mobilization. Protesters were advised to cover their taxi numbers and license plates.

On August 30, 300 taxi drivers from the "Tiburones del Caribe" union blocked the entrance to Tulum, causing a traffic jam. The drivers, holding banners, demanded the release of Sagrero, who remains a union leader and councilor in Tulum, despite his arrest for his alleged involvement in multiple crimes, including the murder of four individuals.
