Tragedy Strikes: Three Tulum Taxi Drivers Found Dead

A law enforcement officer stands guard at a cordoned-off area with dense foliage and an abandoned vehicle in the background.

Three men, believed to be taxi drivers working in the hotel district of Tulum, were found dead near a trail just off the Tulum-Playa del Carmen highway. Their bodies were discovered on Friday morning near the Labná-Ha cenote.

Local residents had reported hearing gunshots, which prompted a response from the National Guard. It appears that two of the three taxi drivers were taken from their vehicles and killed on the trail, while the third was found dead in his car.

Two taxis were found at the scene, leading investigators to believe that the perpetrators may have used one of the taxis to escape.

Members of the Municipal Police and the National Guard have launched an operation to locate the individuals responsible for these killings. As of now, no arrests have been reported by the police authorities.
