The Xcaret Group is excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Xcaret Mexican Folk Art Fair. This unique event will feature 140 master artisans from across Mexico, and will be held from September 19 to 22, 2024 at Xcaret Park's Henequen Hacienda.

The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures including Dr. Marina Núñez, Undersecretary of Cultural Development of the Federal Ministry of Culture; Senator Susana Harp; Carlos Tejeda, Coordinator of UNESCO Culture Programs; and Pablo Casas, Undersecretary of Promotion and Communication of the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Quintana Roo. Representatives from the Xcaret Group included Miguel Quintana Pali, General Director; Liz Lugo, Executive Parks, Tour and Shipping Director; Leticia Aguerrebere, Corporate Art, Culture, Production and Festivals Director; and Iliana Rodríguez, Corporate Sustainability and Institutional Dialogue Director.

Xcaret has always been a place to share a love for Mexico with the world, and the First Xcaret Mexican Folk Art Fair is a continuation of this tradition. The event aims to showcase the talents of master artisans while fostering cultural exchange with the park's many national and international visitors. The fair also underscores Xcaret's commitment to ethical conduct and respect for human rights in its dealings with artisans, promoting their work with transparency and fairness. Furthermore, the fair seeks to empower artisan communities by providing a dignified platform for selling their works. A key benefit for participating artisans is that no registration fee will be charged, allowing them to keep 100% of the sales made during the fair. They will also receive financial, legal, and social media management advice to help them thrive in their craft.

Liz Lugo, Executive Parks, Tour and Shipping Director, stated, "One of our core values is to put people at the heart of what we do. We have created a space that respects the rights of master artisans, who share with us their artistic heritage and traditions. We strive to ensure their work is appreciated and shared with the respect it deserves as one of the most beautiful expressions of our heritage: Mexican folk art." Leticia Aguerrebere, Corporate Art, Culture, Production and Festivals Director, added, "We are thrilled to launch the First Xcaret Mexican Folk Art Fair, a space that celebrates the creativity and cultural connection of master artisans. At Xcaret, we are committed to connecting these artistic expressions with a global audience, while maintaining deep respect for the traditions that unite us as Mexicans."

The event will include demonstrations of techniques, presentations, fashion shows, and various artistic activities, running from 10:30 to 19:30. Access is included with entrance to Xcaret Park, or specific fair tickets can be purchased at Fair website.

The Xcaret Group remains dedicated to spreading its love for Mexico to people around the world, creating shared prosperity with communities across Mexico, prioritizing human rights, and taking action.
