On September 20, the first commercial trip of the Maya Train arrived in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, a Maya municipality in the heart of Quintana Roo. The train departed from Playa del Carmen shortly before 9 a.m., reaching its destination around 2 p.m. The inaugural train, numbered 601, left Playa del Carmen at 8:50 a.m., stopping at the Tulum station at 9:41 a.m. The train then departed Tulum at 9:46 a.m., arriving at the Tulum Airport station at 10:17 a.m. This station is located four kilometers from the airport's boarding area.

The journey from Tulum to Felipe Carrillo Puerto was initially estimated to take until 11:27 a.m. However, due to ongoing testing, the train traveled at a slower speed, causing a delay. Throughout the trip, operational personnel were seen finalizing infrastructure details.

Passenger numbers were lower than on other sections but those who traveled gave positive feedback. Alberto Castillo, a first-time train traveler, praised the efficient service and friendly staff, encouraging others to try the experience. Some passengers, however, expressed disappointment with the lack of phone charging ports and wifi.

The Tulum station is four kilometers from the municipal capital, and the Felipe Carrillo Puerto terminal is the same distance from the city's first quadrant. Due to ongoing bridge construction, an alternative route is currently required.

Municipal president Mary Hernández, who boarded the train upon its arrival in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, emphasized the project's importance for the Maya zone and the municipality. She described the day as historic for Carrillo Puerto and promised more good things to come. She also praised the Felipe Carrillo Puerto station as one of the best on the Maya Train route, inviting locals to visit and appreciate its design and functionality.

Hernández assured that efforts are underway to improve access to the station. She also reported that the city council is collaborating with the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) to enhance the station's surroundings. This will involve a combination of municipal, state, and federal resources to ensure optimal infrastructure in the area.
