President Sheinbaum’s 100 Bold Promises for Mexico

On October 1, 2024, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo addressed the people of Mexico in the zocalo of the nation’s capital, Mexico City. During her speech, she outlined the 100 commitments of her administration.

After receiving the command baton from the indigenous communities amidst a popular celebration, President Sheinbaum enumerated her commitments which include:

1. Upholding freedom of expression and press.
2. Ensuring a clear separation between political and economic power.
3. Protecting the right to assembly and mobilization.
4. Governing with the principle of “for the good of all, the poor first.”
5. Respecting human rights in all forms.
6. Refraining from using state force to suppress citizens.
7. Respecting religious freedoms and combating discrimination.
8. Defending the rights of Mexicans abroad.
9. Pursuing a foreign policy of self-determination.
10. Encouraging non-intervention in other countries’ affairs.
11. Promoting fraternity among all the peoples of the world.
12. Combating racism and classism in all their manifestations.
13. Maintaining a government that is sensitive and close to the citizens.
14. Visiting all the states of the Republic.
15. Driving electoral reform to strengthen democracy.
16. Submitting to the revocation of the mandate.
