This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Peninsular Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (CEPHCIS). In her first annual report for 2023-2024, Director María Carolina Depetris highlighted the institution's significant contributions to knowledge development and problem-solving in the humanities.

The Center's academic faculty is currently working on 25 individual research projects and participating in 19 group projects. They are also involved in three international collaborations with France, Spain, and Argentina. Furthermore, they have made significant contributions to academia with their published books, book chapters, and articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals.

In terms of outreach and internationalization, CEPHCIS has established connections with higher education institutions in Yucatán, the Mexican southeast, Central America, and the Caribbean. Humanities Coordinator, Miguel Armando López Leyva, praised the community's commitment and the vision of CEPHCIS's leadership over the past 20 years.

López Leyva believes that the Center's contributions reflect its institutional commitment and efforts to improve its operations and connections with various local and regional environments. This report underscores the importance of collective actions in ensuring the entity's stability and longevity.
