Two men were apprehended and beaten by taxi drivers in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. The incident occurred after they allegedly attempted to rob a taxi driver.

The event took place around 3 a.m. when a driver from the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río union picked up the two men. During the ride, the passengers reportedly began to threaten the driver, prompting him to call for assistance from his fellow drivers via WhatsApp groups.

Several taxi drivers quickly arrived at the scene. When the suspects realized they were surrounded, they attempted to escape. However, they were caught by the drivers on 38th Avenue and 15th Street in the same neighborhood.

The drivers claimed that these suspects had previously robbed other taxi drivers. Local police arrived at the scene shortly after and paramedics provided first aid to the suspects, who were then taken into police custody.
