Beware: Bogus Driving Licenses Sold on Social Media!

The Citizen Security Secretariat of Solidaridad has issued a warning to residents about potential scams involving the sale of counterfeit driving licenses on social media. These fraudulent licenses appear to be issued by the Secretariat but are in fact invalid.

These social media accounts are offering driving licenses that bear the distinctive features of the Secretariat. However, they are not legitimate. As of January this year, the State of Quintana Roo's Institute of Mobility (Imoveqroo) is the only authorized entity to issue such licenses by law.

The process to obtain a genuine driving license is personal and must be conducted directly at the offices of the Institute of Mobility. It is not possible to legitimately acquire a license through third parties or via social media platforms. Engaging in such activities could potentially lead to criminal charges.

If you suspect that you have fallen victim to such a scam, it is crucial to report the incident to the relevant authorities or call the emergency number 911.
