Violent Incident at “Man Kií” Restaurant in Playa del Carmen Sparks Concern

Playa del Carmen has witnessed another act of violence, this time targeting the “Man Kií” seafood restaurant in the Ejidal district.

The incident took place in the early hours of the day on Benito Juárez Avenue between 80th and 85th avenues. Unidentified individuals on a motorcycle opened fire on the restaurant’s facade. At the time of the attack, the restaurant was closed, so thankfully, no injuries were reported. However, the restaurant’s exterior was left riddled with bullet holes, causing concern among local residents.

The area was quickly cordoned off by the Municipal Police, who then notified the State Attorney General’s Office to initiate the necessary procedures. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but all avenues, including a potential extortion attempt, are being explored.
