Tulum is set to host its first-ever Gastronomic Mole Festival, scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 2. The festival is a celebration of Mexico's rich culinary heritage, with a particular focus on the diverse and exceptional variations of mole, a traditional Mexican dish.

David Corona, executive chef at The OGS restaurant, shared that the 2024 Gastronomic Mole Festival in Tulum will feature tastings, culinary workshops, and presentations from renowned chefs. The festival will also include collaborations with guest chefs and sponsors. A total of 12 national chefs will prepare mole tastings, accompanied by a variety of drinks, talks, and a wealth of flavor.

The inaugural Gastronomic Mole Festival will take place across three venues:

  • The festivities will commence on October 31 at the Kanan Hotel, featuring Fire Dancers, Folk Dance, and a DJ.
  • On November 1, the venue will shift to The OGS Tulum restaurant, where attendees can enjoy Folkloric Dance from Michoacán and Son Jarocho.
  • The festival will conclude on November 2 at El Agavero Restaurant, which will host a folk dance show, a cacao ceremony, and a DJ.

Eduardo López, director of planning and strategy from the Economic Development Directorate, expressed that the Gastronomic Mole Festival demonstrates Tulum's ability to host diverse events. The festival is also expected to bring economic benefits to participating businesses and their employees, particularly during a season of low visitor numbers.
