Tulum Hotel Set to Wow Visitors: Grand Opening Dec 15th!

The Tulum Hotel, a project overseen by the Secretary of National Defense, is in the final stages of completion and is expected to open to the public on December 15th. This hotel is the largest of six planned along the 1,554-kilometer Mayan Train route, which includes strategic locations in Palenque, Chiapas; Edzná and Calakmul, Campeche; Nuevo Uxmal and Chichén Itzá, Yucatán; and Tulum, Quintana Roo. Recently, the hotel welcomed a group of Quintana Roo businessmen for a preview, led by Sergio León Cervantes.

The hotel is located adjacent to the main building of the Tulum International Airport "Felipe Carrillo Puerto", at the end of a 12-kilometer jungle road branching off from the Cancun-Chetumal federal highway 307. It is 19 kilometers from the central area of the municipality. The four-story property features two elevators, a grand lobby, and a public reception counter, all showcasing fine wood finishes.

The hotel boasts 132 rooms, many of which are approximately four square meters and include a single bed, closet, toilet, and shower. The hotel's presidential suites are uniquely located on the first level, boasting an area of approximately 60 square meters. These luxury rooms are apartment-style, featuring a king-size bed, television, large closet, kitchenette, dining area, bathroom with shower, and an outdoor terrace.

The hotel's design incorporates indoor corridors connecting the upper and lower floors with metal and bamboo stairs, and rustic floors. The ceilings showcase the electrical and air conditioning installations, tastefully covered by decorative metal, bamboo, and wicker lamp units. The same design elements can be seen in the airport terminal waiting rooms and platforms.

Additional amenities include gyms with exercise equipment, meeting and work rooms, and a restaurant. The top floor features a ready-to-use pool with an outdoor bar and a viewpoint that rises above two additional roof levels. This observation point offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the jungle and the airport building, which was inaugurated last December.

The administration of the Tulum Hotel remains undecided, but it could potentially be managed by the majority state-owned company, Olmeca-Maya-Mexica Airport, Railway, Auxiliary Services and Related Services Group, established in 2022.
