Mexico Drops Out of 2025 Tourism Fair: What’s Next?

Mexico will no longer be the partner country for the 45th International Tourism Fair (Fitur), slated to take place from January 22nd to 26th, 2025. This is a surprising turn of events, as Mexico was previously announced as the main highlight of the upcoming edition.

The Mexican Ministry of Tourism has shown interest in assuming the Partner Country role in 2026, according to a statement by Ifema, the venue where Fitur is held annually. The statement, however, did not clarify whether Mexico has officially withdrawn from its partnership role in the 2025 edition.

Ifema Madrid has not provided additional details regarding this decision. Organizational sources revealed on Friday that the country set to replace Mexico as the featured guest of the fair in the next edition is still undetermined, and efforts are ongoing to finalize this.
