Vanessa Pokorny, an American woman, has been missing since May 1, 2019, in Playa del Carmen. It was only recently that a formal complaint was lodged with the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) of Quintana Roo, leading to the issuance of a search warrant.
Pokorny is 48 years old, has fair skin, a slim build, blonde, semi-wavy, long hair, and blue eyes. She stands at 1.63 meters tall and weighs approximately 50 kilograms. There are no unique identifiers or information regarding the clothes she was last seen wearing.
In March 2019, Pokorny, then a resident of Playa del Carmen, reported that her minor children were taken by their father. The incident, which happened at the private school Yits'atil in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood of Solidaridad, stirred significant attention.
Reports from that period indicate that a teacher at the school informed Pokorny that the father of her children, Julian and Liam, had arrived at the school with two lawyers, demanding custody of his children. Pokorny requested the teacher to keep the children safe until she could arrive. However, the school administration allowed the father to leave with the children.
Following this, Pokorny took to social media and the press, reporting the abduction of her children. The father responded, insisting that there was nothing illegal about his actions and that the children were in no danger. The school issued a similar statement, denying any wrongdoing in handing over the children.
Court records from the Quintana Roo Superior Court indicate ongoing litigation between the ex-partners as of January 2020. However, according to the filed complaint, Pokorny has not been seen since May 1, 2019. Her family and friends are seeking assistance in locating her.
