Emergency services in Tulum have increased their efforts in response to a surge in incidents throughout the city. In recent days, first responders, firefighters, and civil protection personnel have been called to a variety of emergencies, such as fires, traffic accidents, and first aid situations in different parts of the town.
This rise in emergency calls has prompted local authorities to heighten alerts and encourage community vigilance.
One recent incident, which took place last Friday, involved a fire at a military camp. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within an hour. Although only material damages were reported, this event highlights the need for a quick response to safety-threatening situations.
In the beach area, a woman fainted due to decompensation, leading to first responders implementing first aid protocols. During this incident, authorities reminded beachgoers of the temporary port closure and the importance of adhering to safety measures in the area.
In another incident, firefighters responded to a fire at the "Aldea Mangle" shopping center in the coastal area. They were able to control the fire in just 40 minutes, preventing more extensive damage to the high-traffic tourist spot.
The emergency services also received several requests for preventative tree pruning in various parts of the city. These requests were promptly addressed to minimize the risk of accidents caused by dangerous branches or fallen trees.
Due to the increase in incident reports, Tulum authorities are urging residents and tourists to stay vigilant and promptly report any potentially dangerous situations. This is part of a broader effort to ensure the safety of everyone in the area.
