Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa has personally congratulated Lucia Berenice Noh Cohuó, the high school student who clinched first place in the XV National Astronomy Olympiad in Mexico. Lezama Espinosa expressed her pride and satisfaction at Noh's achievement.

Noh will represent the state of Quintana Roo and Mexico at the 2024 Latin American Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad, set to take place later this month in Costa Rica.

Governor Lezama Espinosa stated, "On behalf of all of Quintana Roo, you fill us with pride. As a government that values humanism and feminism, we will follow your journey and support you. This is our commitment to you from our new government."

These words of encouragement were delivered during the "Women in Science" event held at the Yook’ol Kaab planetarium in Chetumal. The event was organized by the Quintana Roo Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (COQHCYT), led by Cristopher Malpica Morales.

Governor Lezama Espinosa urged Noh to continue leading the state towards new frontiers of knowledge.

Noh, a first-semester student at COBACH in José María Morelos, is mentored by Biol. María Miguelina Pat Che. After securing first place in the competition, Noh expressed her excitement and joy at the opportunity to represent Mexico.
