Over 200 workers from the Municipal Public Services Secretariat undertook a large-scale day of public service in Puerto Aventuras on Tuesday, November 12th. The initiative, led by municipal president Estefanía Mercado, aimed to revitalize and improve the urban image of the municipality.

The head of the department, Julieta Martín Azueta, announced that these activities will be conducted monthly to address the neglect experienced by the residents of Puerto Aventuras. The mayor, Gilberto Gómez Martínez, also participated in the initiative, which was well received by the community.

The workers were divided into at least 15 brigades, supported by 25 ground units, including cranes, dump trucks, fenced trucks, flatbed trucks, vans, and backhoes. The Lázaro Cárdenas del Río Taxi Drivers Union also provided transport vehicles for personnel transportation, demonstrating their support for the municipal administration's efforts to reduce social inequality.

In addition to cleaning public spaces, the workers carried out other tasks for the first time in the municipality, such as curb painting. They also conducted inspections to ensure sanitation and regulatory compliance.

The community responded positively to the initiative, following the mayor's recommendations to remove stone material, vehicles, and other objects obstructing their sidewalks. The first large-scale workday began early in the morning and concluded after 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
