Today marks the grand opening of the new ADO bus terminal in Bacalar. The new facility promises to offer superior comfort and high-quality services to its thousands of monthly travelers.
Juan Manuel Díaz, the commercial manager for ADO, announced that the new terminal is a response to the growing number of passengers. There has been a 10% increase in passenger flow compared to the previous year, with current figures showing that between 8,000 and 10,000 people travel through Bacalar each month.
"The demand has exceeded the capacity of the existing terminal, often leaving passengers waiting in unfavorable conditions such as intense sun or rain," Diaz explained.
The new terminal, located on the federal highway, boasts an air-conditioned waiting room, ticket office, convenience store, and ample space to ensure passenger comfort.
With the launch of this terminal, ADO aims to enhance connectivity to key destinations, such as Tulum Airport. The goal is to provide a more organized and safe travel experience for all passengers.
