Cancún International Airport was recently the site of a significant drug bust. An airport employee was apprehended while in possession of over 45 kilograms of cocaine. The employee, known as Dilan “G”, was arrested in Terminal Four by officers from the National Guard.

The arrest was made during a routine surveillance operation. Officers noticed irregularities in the suspect's luggage, prompting a thorough inspection. Upon inspection, they discovered 45 kilograms and 799 grams of cocaine hydrochloride. This significant find highlights the presence of organized crime within one of Mexico's busiest airport terminals.

Following the arrest, the Federal Public Ministry charged Dilan “G” with crimes against health, specifically relating to the transportation of cocaine. The strength of the evidence led to his immediate detention.

This incident has reignited concerns over the presence of criminal activity within Mexican airports. Corruption and drug trafficking continue to pose a significant threat. The Attorney General's Office has not ruled out further arrests in connection with this case. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend any potential accomplices within the airport terminal.
