AJE Group and its Mexican subsidiary, AJEMEX, recently took part in environmental conservation efforts in Tulum, Quintana Roo. Through their corporate social responsibility program, they participated in initiatives aimed at protecting the environment and preserving marine wildlife, thereby helping to reduce plastic pollution in the area.
Company employees engaged in various conservation activities, including the protection of sea turtles through the Kanan A’ak program. They also cleaned a turtle incubation pen, collecting around 5 kilograms of microplastics and 6 jars of polymers. These actions are crucial in preserving the life cycle of marine species and controlling the spread of harmful microplastics in marine ecosystems.
In partnership with local civil associations, AJEMEX has launched a project to reduce the plastic footprint in Tulum. They have managed to recover 4,127 kilograms of PET plastic by installing eco-containers at key locations throughout the city.
These initiatives highlight AJEMEX's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability in Mexico. The company continues to support efforts that foster positive change in the natural environment and local communities.
