Two individuals have been apprehended in Playa del Carmen, suspected of offering monetary incentives to sway votes in favor of the incumbent mayor of Solidaridad, Lili Campos.

The suspects allegedly offered four thousand pesos in electronic cards as a bribe for votes. The State Attorney General's Office reported that an arrest warrant was executed for a woman, identified as Guadalupe del Rosario "N". She was taken into custody on May 28 on charges of vote-buying.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, Guadalupe was operating from a residence in the Nicte-Ha neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. She was reportedly offering four thousand pesos on an electronic card in exchange for a vote. The plan was to transfer two thousand pesos before the election and the remaining sum after the election.

Emiliano Vladimir Ramos Hernández, a former local deputy and ex-leader of the PRD, was also taken into custody. He is accused of coordinating the distribution of electronic cards used in the alleged vote-buying scheme.

The cards, supplied by the company "Alquimia Pay", were reportedly used to purchase votes in favor of Lili Campos. Campos is the re-election candidate for the coalition "Strength and Heart for Quintana Roo" (PRI-PAN).

Emiliano Vladimir Ramos was arrested after Guadalupe del Rosario "N" identified him as the source of the electronic cards. The Quintana Roo Prosecutor's Office has indicated that Guadalupe del Rosario "N" could face up to three years in prison if convicted.
