Atenea Gómez Ricalde, a candidate for the Municipal Presidency of Isla Mujeres, is dedicated to improving the health of local families. One of her key proposals, as part of the "Wellness for the Island People" initiative, is to establish the first Comprehensive Center for Diabetes Care on the island.
Gómez recently visited the Meteorological area of the Insular Zone. Here, she met with residents and shared her initial campaign proposals. She emphasized that the proposed center will offer specialized care for those living with diabetes.
Gómez, a candidate representing the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), the Ecological Green Party of Mexico (PVEM), and the Labor Party (PT), said that the concept of a dedicated diabetes care facility came from listening to the people during her campaign walks.
She explained that currently, island families have access to free medical services. These include medical and nutrition consultations, nursing, and a variety of health prevention and care campaigns. She reiterated her commitment to keeping this area a priority, highlighting the importance of continued access to these services.
