Atenea Gómez Ricalde, a mayoral candidate for Isla Mujeres under the "Let's Continue Making History" coalition, has pledged to enhance training for those working within the tourism sector. This initiative is part of her ongoing commitment to maintain Isla Mujeres as a premier travel destination.
Gómez Ricalde has encouraged tourism workers to consistently offer high-quality, friendly service to both domestic and international tourists who visit the island daily.
In addition to this, she has outlined plans to tirelessly promote tourism. Her new campaign proposals include improving the urban image of the city center. She has emphasized her plans to implement underground wiring, establish the first public parking, and revitalize the East Malecón.
The coalition, made up of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), the Green Ecological Party of Mexico (PVEM), and the Labor Party (PT), supports this transformation project. It aims to foster responsible tourism that generates both well-being and shared prosperity for the families of the island.
