Colombian airline Avianca has announced a new direct flight route from Bogotá to the Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport in Tulum. The inaugural flight is set to depart on December 10, 2024.

The first flight will leave Bogotá at 12:30 and is expected to arrive in Tulum at 16:00. The return flight is scheduled to depart at 17:05 and land back in Bogotá at 20:25.

Tulum's mayor, Diego Castañón Trejo, believes this new flight route will enhance tourism between Mexico and Colombia. Avianca's direct flights offer a convenient option for travelers eager to experience Tulum's rich natural and cultural offerings, further strengthening the tourism ties between the two countries.

Jorge Molina, the General Director of Tourism and Economy in Tulum, added that the new route will provide over a thousand additional seats per week between Colombia and Tulum. This represents a significant opportunity for both tourism and economic growth.
