Belize Scraps $40 Entry Fee for Mexicans, Boosting Cross-Border Relations

Belize has eliminated the $40 entry fee for Mexicans, a decision reached during a meeting between Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Belizean Prime Minister Juan Antonio Briseño.

The meeting also involved Mara Lezama, the governor of Quintana Roo, and covered a range of topics including tourism, infrastructure, energy, duty-free zones, imports, and potential development opportunities to stimulate economic and social activity in the shared border region.

According to Lezama, who shared the news on her social media platforms, the entry fee has been officially abolished. This move is expected to promote greater cooperation and exchange between the two neighboring countries.
