The peaceful town of Chan Chemuyil was shaken when local authorities discovered a decomposed body of a man. The body was found in a black nylon bag in a secluded green area near Federal Highway 307, along the Tulum – Chan Chemuyil road.
The discovery was reported at around 2:30 PM. Tulum's Public Security personnel were dispatched to the location following an alert about a possible abandoned body. On arrival, they confirmed the presence of a body, which was bound and in an advanced state of decomposition.
Officials from the State Attorney General's Office of Quintana Roo were called to the scene. They were responsible for removing the body and conducting the necessary procedures. Forensic experts are working to determine the identity of the deceased, as well as the exact cause of death.
As of now, no information has been released regarding potential suspects or the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation to shed light on the case. The discovery has understandably caused unease among local residents.
The section of road where the body was found is frequently used by both tourists and hotel sector workers. Authorities are expected to release detailed information about the deceased in due course.
