In Playa del Carmen, Mexico, a disturbing incident took place at the HM hotel in the city center. A family visiting a relative staying at the hotel reported being harassed and assaulted by a group of taxi drivers. The drivers accused them of being Uber operators, leading to an escalating confrontation.

The family, who wish to remain anonymous, provided photographic evidence of the assault and the faces of the taxi drivers involved. They explained that they had come to the hotel to pick up their relative. Upon their arrival, they were photographed and subsequently intimidated by several taxi drivers.

The situation escalated into a verbal altercation, culminating in one of the taxi drivers slapping the husband of the family in the middle of the road. During the argument and subsequent assault, the family was cornered by about five taxi drivers.

Despite capturing the incident on camera, the family has not yet reported the assault to the State Attorney General's Office. They expressed fear of potential retaliation following their public complaint.
