Federal Highway 180D, which will connect Cancún Airport with the Tren Maya station, is nearing the end of its construction phase. The two-kilometer stretch of pavement is complete, with workers now focusing on finalizing the curbs and lighting installation. The construction of retaining walls and electrical wiring for the lights is also underway.
The vehicular crossing between Cancún Airport and the Tren Maya station is fully paved, and the bridge's side lanes are ready to facilitate entry and exit from the station. This project, led by former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), is a significant infrastructure development.
The highway, designed to connect Cancún Airport with the Tren Maya station, comprises four lanes – two in each direction. It will also feature a central median and a roundabout for direct access to the station.
Current construction activities include the creation of sidewalks, installation of drains, and placement of directional signage for drivers. These tasks are expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
