In a bid to improve services and equipment, 17 health centers in the Benito Juárez municipality will receive a total of 12 million pesos. This funding is part of the federal program, "The Clinic is Ours".

The distribution of funds will be based on the size of each health center. Centers with a single consulting room will receive 400 thousand pesos. Six centers, including one in the continental area of Isla Mujeres, each with two consulting rooms, will receive 600 thousand pesos. The remaining 10 health centers, each with between three and four consulting rooms, will receive 800 thousand pesos each.

The Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, led the funding announcement at the dome of Region 96. She stated that the funds will be managed by the community and used to meet the needs of the health units. This could include upgrades to medical equipment, infrastructure, or furniture.

Governor Espinosa emphasized that the budget will be overseen by women-led surveillance committees. This will ensure that the funds are invested where they are most needed, addressing the specific needs of each health center.

Quintana Roo was one of the first states to adopt "The Clinic is Ours" program. The state has 171 Well-being Health Committees and has received an investment of 82 million 400 thousand pesos.

The funding announcement was attended by beneficiaries, medical staff, public servants, and the treasurers of the Clinic Committees in Benito Juárez. Also present were Arturo Abreu Marín, the state delegate of Programs for Development in Quintana Roo; Pablo Gutiérrez Fernández, the acting head of the Municipality of Benito Juárez; Flavio Carlos Rosado, the State Secretary of Health; Moisés Alejandro Toledo Pensamiento, the state coordinator of IMSS Welfare; and William Martín Jiménez, the regional director of Programs for Development in Benito Juárez and Puerto Morelos.
