The Benito Juárez Tourism Secretariat and Cancún District have announced the second edition of the Reggae Fest, inviting locals and tourists alike to join in the festivities. The event is set to take place on August 10th at Langosta Beach, running from 2:00 pm until 11:00 pm.

Attendees can expect performances from bands such as "Los Buena Vida", "Corpusklan", "Seis en la Selva", "Playa Azul", and "Fatboy", among others. These concerts will be held across two stages, one main stage and a second stage designed for children.

In addition to the music, the festival will also feature a range of other activities. A sports area will be set up for football games, and a bazaar will be held, making the event a family-friendly affair.

Carlos del Castillo, director of Cancún District, shared that this year's Reggae Fest will be held twice, once in the summer and again in the winter. The team hopes to continue this pattern in future years. The location of the winter edition is still under consideration, with potential venues including Nader Avenue or the Cecilio Chi auditorium.

The festival is expected to attract between 3,000 to 5,000 attendees, particularly given its beachfront location and array of activities. The organizers also hope to involve more local brands and companies in the event.

Juan Pablo de Zulueta Razo, the Municipal Tourism Secretary, emphasized the importance of such events in attracting new visitors to Cancún. Despite being one of Latin America's premier sun and sea destinations, Cancún has few events that utilize its beautiful beaches. The Reggae Fest aims to change this.
